The Blizzard of 2010!

First I must explain the photo of the baby above... this was taken in the CHOP NICU when he was 3 weeks old... I just found it today and thought I would share with you how adorable he was. This was a rough time for us but we are so thankful to still have him here and can hardly believe it has been 5 1/2 years.
This photo reminds me to believe in Miracles ...because they do happen!!!

Now onto the breaking news!
Here is the blizzard of 2010 that has been going on since 6 p.m. last night and is expected to continue into late this evening!

Here is our local Meteorologist Ed Hanna telling us the blizzard is not going to stop until late tonight! We are in the pink Lehigh Valley 12"-18" (but I think we may have surpassed that already)
Our bird feeder and back yard. We had so many fine feathered friends visit us today including a beautiful Cardinal (Maddy calls them RedJays! )
Here is our deck and other bird feeders! Soo much snow!
Here is my Jeep, this was after I drove it this morning! The snow is coming down so fast!
This is our mailbox, our street is right in front of it. Somewhere out there is our street :)
Way out there is our stop sign, that is where Maddy's bus stop is...
Here is a bird on the snow on our deck. He actually fell off the table into the snow. Ha ha... it was so cute!
More of the deck covered. This is insane!
Look at the bird feeder covered in snow!

So today I actually went into work for a little before it got bad. On the way home a tractor trailor a few miles in front of me turned over on I-78, our major interstate that I have to take to get home. Needless to say as I got off the interstate which was barely plowed our Governer decided to shut the interstate down at our exit. Thankfully I had just gotten off the exit!

I haven't seen it this bad since the last blizzard in 96' when I was 15. So I had never driven in conditions like this until today. It wasn't so bad, I got home as it was getting worse. None of our highways are plowed at all and not one Dunkin Donut was open on my way to work... I needed my hot chocolate so bad too!
All I can say is thank goodness for my Jeep and four-wheel drive!!!

The baby is with me today, we are experiencing some behavior that I don't like, he is screaming and stimming, which sucks. He is also extremely congested which doesn't help. I want to take him out in the snow to play, my girlfriend from work lent me a snowsuit but he is so unhappy I don't think it would work right now. Madison is at Bear Creek Ski Resort with her daddy today. They made it up the mountain to the resort but he said he doesn't think they are going to make it home. So I guess he is going to try to get a room there although yesterday they were booked. I hope they stay even if it is just on the couches in the lobby because the conditions are rapidly deteriorating here. I am glad she is with her daddy today and having fun.. they both love to ski.

Truly this storm is unbelievable and I am so tired of being in the house!

I may go snowmobiling later tonight. The snowmobiles are the only thing getting through this mess! HA HA
