Life with Seizures

While I really didn't want to trump my great post below (because it was mostly about Maddy's day with me) but I have to. If you have not read about our cool day together please read about it below today's post.

Dr. Boo called me yesterday towards the end of the day and said it was probably a good thing Rob made the mistake of giving the baby his meds before the blood draw even though he wasn't supposes to. Because..... Robby's threshold for another seizure was low. The medicine is not at a good dose and the behavior signs I have been worried about may have been an indication that another major seizure was about to happen. So starting today we will be working our way up to 100mg daily over the tritration period of 4 weeks. What a pain, I hate tritrating and I definently hate seizures!!!

I am nervous because since the last time we increased his Lamictel in November he has not really gained any new words or made any progress that I can see, so I am worried about more Lamictel and if it will hinder his gaining any more speech soon. I am also worried about the side effect of the Lamictel rash. Which could be a serious allergic reaction. We haven't had a rash yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't happen with this dosage increase. I really hope this helps keep his seizures controlled because it has been one of the better meds we have been on. 

The other thing that is changing is his bus times. He will now get on the bus 20 minutes earlier because they have a new kid to pick up. That is going to make life miserable until his aide and I get used to it. We'll probably start putting braces on at school because that will save about ten minutes of time in the morning.

We have her IEP meeting tomorrow and I am hoping it goes well. She is doing well in school and I am sure the teachers will have good things to say.

Her Birthday is on Friday and she will be 8!
Hard to believe, so sad she is growing up so fast :(
